Meet Ollie

**SPECIAL TRAINING PROVIDED for Ollie's forever family to get him off on the right paw!**

This happy-go-lucky sweetheart is Ollie! He is approximately five years old and 55lbs, and has the most gorgeous chocolate long fur. We’ve learned he is actually a mix of lab and chesapeake bay retriever! He has just enough energy when it is playtime but is also very calm. He will happily chase squirrels in the backyard, or play tug in the living room, but also loves to snuggle and lounge when it’s time to relax. He is crate trained and potty trained and knows that his crate is his den.

He likes car rides too. Ollie enjoys being outside but doesn’t always enjoy being restrained for long period of time, so he would enjoy a physically fenced backyard. Ollie was originally found as a stray wearing a shock collar, and we've learned an invisible fence is not a good fit for him.

Ollie enjoys a nice balance of activity and solitude. Ollie likely just prefers to be a homebody! Busy, public spaces with lots of humans just aren't his preferred places.

Ollie is great with children and has been around kids from newborns up to bigger kids and is very gentle with them.

The most important requirement for Ollie is another dog! He loves to run, play and roughhouse. He also takes a lot of cues from other dogs, so a dog sibling who can show him the ropes of the world will be beneficial to Ollie.

Ollie needs an owner who is a strong, loving leader who is willing to work alongside LOLIN's experienced trainer (at LOLIN's expense) so that he doesn't resource guard his family from strangers. He's been working hard on this behavior and is doing well, but will need continued work at home.
