Olivia is a dapple doxie who was used for breeding. She's a very happy, social gal who gets along wonderfully with people and other small dogs. We are seeking a very special home for her, with an owner who knows the risks of the breed and who has a great vet reference (this means you will have had to have had dogs in the past that we can talk with your vet about). She came to us with another from her "home" but they are not bonded. Olivia is independent and could either be an only dog or one of a pair assuming the other dog is of the same weight range. She has an October spay date, so having her close by (Richmond, VA area) to make her appointment is a must. We are seeking a home with an owner who is at home most of the time to share their time with her. No small children or larger pets, and a secure, fenced yard is a must. This little lady is as special on the inside as on the outside and will certainly steal many hearts!

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
