Meet Olivia
Olivia (fka Reese) found herself at Fairfield County a few months ago, heartworm positive, with her collar partially embedded in her neck and multiple punctures. The shelter was able to raise funds for both treatments. Olivia has mild hip dysplasia and both rear luxating patellas. The vet does not recommend surgery, however recommends: losing about 5lb, proper diet/weight management/low key exercise, joint supplements, and rounds of anti-inflammatory when she has flare ups. It is possible that Olivia may never need to have the three surgeries completed - but each surgery is dependent on the other once necessary. The shelter believes she is about 2 years old and 55lb. She is good with other dogs her size with proper introductions, kids over 5 and she will chase a cat or other small animals as prey. Olivia loves to law in the sun, roll in grass, and just be a happy young dog she never was able to be.
Please note: We do not have a physical facility and the dogs are not located in Hudson, NH. We are a foster-based rescue and dogs can be located anywhere in New England. All adopters must be pre-approved to arrange a meet and greet, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. We do not transport once the dogs arrive in New England. Applications must be submitted at HarveysHope.org for consideration. We estimate it will be 1-2 weeks before you hear from one of our volunteers. Thank you!
