Oliver is a gorgeous Aussie mix who is looking for an experienced owner. Oliver is a high energy sweetheart who is very smart and great in a home but he also has quirks and may not be a great fit for first time dog owner or family with small children. Apartment living is not a good option for Oliver. Oliver can be very sensitive about being grabbed around his collar area, and will snap and give a warning growl if he is uncomfortable, so he will need a home dedicated to working with him on desensitizing him. In a home where Oliver doesn't have clear boundaries and expectations, he creates his own rules, so we are looking for a home that will provide him with predictable and loving environment where he can thrive and show the true diamond that he is.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dogs also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
