“Ohana means family.”

You heard Lilo & Stitch say it, but ohana has a deeper meaning than just family...

It extends from blood-relatives to “adopted” or “chosen” family.

So what better name than Ohana for this guy who just happens to have a tattoo of the Hawaiian Islands on the back of his neck.

Ohana has been with us a little while as we were gauging exactly what situation he would fit into best. ?

Here is what we have come up with,

Ohana is a big ol boy with a tail that literally hurts to be hit by.
Tiny kiddos may not be the best fit because of this.
Although he is a big sweetheart, he just might be a little too loving and hurt someone teeny tiny.

He does do well with more sturdy, respectful, children however and I think he would love some kids run and play and snuggle with.

He seems to be a lover of all humans so far.

He does super good with the cats here.

Dogs, he can live with, however he is a little bit quirky.

He is a dog that needs non-reactive dog friends.

He LOVES to play with other dogs, to the point it’s a little obnoxious at times, however he is not great with sharing high value things with other dogs.

Treats and food he can be snarky over if he feels they might get his, this is why a dog that won’t snark back is a must.

He also has a habit of taking toys from other dogs, so a dog that isn’t guardy of toys is also a must.

These habits are trainable and he has made leaps and bounds in the right direction, he just needs a home that can continue working with him on knowing there is plenty to go around.

Hana is crate trained and potty trained to a dog door.

HE WILL WORK FOR FOOD so training will be a breeze!

We will be requiring a fenced yard for this boy as he had a tendency to go for adventures prior to coming to us.

He is microchipped. Neutered. Vaccinated. Dewormed. Up to date on preventative. Heartworm and tick born disease tested and negative.
