Meet Odin

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING ---- This dog is not in foster care with BAPBR and we make no guarantees about his/her health or temperament. We are providing a service to Del Norte County Animal Control to help with adoption. Please contact the shelter directly if you are interested in meeting or adopting this dog--their info is below.

Odin is a pit bull blend only about a year old and a muscular 60lbs. He has a beautiful, deep grey coat and looks at you with such adoring, kind eyes.
He thrives with personal attention, loves people and his favorite thing in the world is belly scratches (will flop for scratches)!!!! He has a gentle demeanor, is easily managed and has been an amazing ambassador for the Pittie breed.

He was diagnosed with a case of mild hip-dysplasia and receives pain management carprofen 1x/day. This condition will need to be monitored by a vet. Our goal is to improve Odin's comfort level and provide this gentle soul with the life he has always deserved. We provide all of our dogs access to indoor shelter, heat, beds, blankets, water and food; but a kennel and a hard concrete floor is no place for him and over time will only make his condition worse.

He is not currently house broken so we are looking for a foster family willing to work with him on this minor issue and provide Odin with gentle, loving guidance.
He did previously live with another dog named Mariah and while he does well with her he can be selective with who he decides to make friends with. We believe with proper introductions and the right canine match he would likely be okay with a canine companion. Please bring along any dogs in the family for a meet and greet to be sure its a love match!

Cats don't seem to be much of an issue for Odin. I do show some interest but don't appear to have much of a chase drive. With gentle guidance he redirects his attention easily. Odin needs you and so desperately wants out of the shelter and into the comfort of a loving home. If you're looking for a playful pup who is not too active and has a heart of solid gold - Odin is your guy!

Odin is adoptable at Del Norte Animal Control, 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA (707) 464-7235.

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't always come outside to play--so we want YOU to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption. It's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
