Meet Odie

Hello, my name is Odie! I am 4 month old, 25 lb terrier mix and full of energy and love.

I am rambunctious and love to play tug of war and fetch! I am teething currently and walk around with my mouth open looking for things to nibble. I love chewing on my toys and bones.

I am still working on being potty trained but I have finally gotten the hang of going outside! These city streets are a lot different from what I was used to. Speaking of the city, I love the sounds of my apartment building and the sirens outside. I even will talk back to dogs barking in the streets!

My foster parents taught me how to sit and it is my favorite thing to do. I will sit for treats on command and whenever I want something. I think that if I sit while my foster parents are eating they might sneak me some of their human food (but they never do!). I’ll keep working on that.

I like to play a lot but after a little activity I will snooze very hard! Napping is my favorite. I sleep through the night in my crate without issues.

I am so cheerful and get stopped by strangers on the streets who tell me how happy and cute I am! I love meeting new people and getting pats. I love small children and always want to say hi as we walk by.

This pet's adoption fee is $500. He is being fostered in Manhattan.

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
