Oakley is a male Husky Mix with an estimated DOB of 6/08/2019. He came to us as a transfer from a shelter low on space and weighed 44.4lbs at intake. Need a running buddy? He would enjoy a camping trip and a long walk in the woods with you by his side! Or if you wanted to just hang out we could cuddle in the air conditioning and take in some spooky movies! He does enjoy the company of other dogs, kids and crate trained. We believe he is house trained. Oakley's adoption fee is $190.00 which includes a medical exam, sterilization surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm testing, and a microchip.
From Foster Family: He has been super chill and tolerant in all situations so far, except for taking a bath. But he was still very gentle throughout that despite hating it!
He is a very curious dude, which has resulted in wondering what's on the counter and kitchen table, but he is learning not to counter surf and has never tried to snatch food.
Stairs seems brand new to him, but he is now conquering them.
Seems to love being both indoors and outdoors
Sleeps well throughout the night in his crate.
Appears completely potty trained (no accidents!)
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. As we get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
All PPAS puppies and dogs are up to date on all of their vaccines (including rabies if age appropriate), and will be microchipped and registered in the adopter's name at the time of adoption. Adopters get a free consultation at an area vet partner within 14 days of adoption. Any dog that is six months of age or older will be tested for Heartworms and if found negative, will be kept on Heartworm prevention during their shelter stay, after the adoption it is up to the adopter to continue the highly recommended Heartworm preventative treatment. Also, all PPAS shelter dogs are treated with a monthly topical flea/tick preventative and we ask that adopters continue that treatment as well. Per state law, we sterilize all shelter pets before they begin their new fabulous lives with their new families.
