Meet Nova PUPDATE!

PUPDATE: Nova was in foster to adopt but sadly her new potential owner was allergic to her dander. They tried everything to make it work and sadly she had to be brought back. She is now being fostered by our receptionist as putting her back into the kennel setting would destroy everything the fosters have done to bring her out of her shell. She comes into the office daily and just hangs out under the desk. She is a very sweet girl. She is housebroken if her humans watch for her signs that she needs to go out. She will let you know. She did have a couple accidents but it was not her fault. She does like to sleep in her crate but her favorite place in on the bed with her person. She warms up to women faster than men but with time and patience she will warms up to men as well. She has been left in the house alone for awhile and is not destructive. She is a very well mannered dog. Never barks or hardly makes a peep. She gets along with every dog she has meet. She could care less about cats. She has been around chickens, cows, goats and a llama. She could care less. She is more afraid of them than anything. Has been around small and bigger dogs and gets along great. She does correct younger dogs when she has to but not in a aggressive way. She would be perfect for someone wanting a low maintenance. dog. If she spooks at something once, she learns from it and does not get scared the second time. She is super smart. She loves walks, soft comfy beds and attention. She likes to go for car rides if she can stick her head out the window. She has been off leash at her foster during the day for potty breaks and to play. She is to dark to see at night so she goes out with a leash for now. If she had a fenced yard she would be fine. I think she would be better in a home that has a confident dog so help her bring her out of her shell even more. After being with her awhile I am thinking she has German Shepherd in her as she sometimes has the shepherd stance and she is a bigger dog. Please come on down and meet her and say hello.

Nova came in as a stray as a pup and adopted out then returned recently as they had to move. She was not socialized much in the home so she is shy and timid until she gets to know you. She is very sweet. She is just a year old. We think she is lab and heeler mix from what we are guessing on breed. She is currently in foster and here is what they have to say about her. The shelter really stresses her out and it took her about a month to totally decompress.
She is a total sweetheart. Docile and pretty calm for only being about a year old.
She does love to play if she finds a friend she can engage with. She likes all other dogs and she's just about the most agreeable happy-go-lucky dog ever. She lives with her two foster sisters and gets along well with them. Nova is potty trained and always asks to go out. At meal times, she goes right to the crate and patiently waits for her food. She has not shown any food aggression or possessiveness over toys. She would love an active lifestyle with someone who will take her hiking and/or running and on outdoor adventures. She loves toys, treats, affection, and exercise. Her favorite toys are stuffies she can disembowel and Nyla bones. She's a wonderful dog and will make someone very happy. She is a little anxious at first but warms up and will need someone with just a little patience to help her adjust to her new home. But once that happens, it will be incredibly rewarding. Also, she would like to request someone who will run with her or have room for her to run and stretch her long legs because she runs like a gazelle. Since she is in foster her meet and greet would have to be by appt only. Please fill out your application and we can set you up a meet and greet.
