Meet Nova

Nova is about 16 weeks old now. We think she is probably a Shepard nix. She had her first vet appointment Thursday September 5th, where she got her first round of shots. She’ll need another round the first week (or beginning of 2nd week) of October. She weighed 10.3 lbs at that appointment, but Ashley & I estimate that she's about 13 lbs. now. She’s mostly German Shepherd and will likely be at least 50 lbs when fully grown.
She’s not the least bit shy with people or animals. As a matter of fact, she’s incredibly curious about EVERYTHING. She wants to play with every animal and person she meets and doesn’t understand why Skippy (the Chihuahua) and Montego (the cat) aren’t interested in playing. She has nipped at the Skippy and at us in an effort to get us to play, but we’re working on that. She loves playing tug-of-war and chasing balls. She is completely housebroken now and will let you know she needs to go out. She is also fully crate trained. She does well in the crate while we're at work, but she definitely has to go out and burn off some energy as soon as we get home. She needs to be with an active person/family, preferably with a fenced yard or access to an area where she can run freely without the risk of escaping. She hasn't had much exposure to children, but we think she would be better with older kids, at least until she learns to stop jumping and nipping and stealing toys. She has shown zero aggression at all with people or with other animals. She hasn't shown any food aggression, but will steal other pets' food if it is within her reach. We've given her peanut butter, cheese, eggs, chicken, bacon, and banana, and she has done well with all of them.

Puppies are a responsibility.
In case you don’t know what puppies do they:
- Run so darn fast they miss the doorway and face plant into walls
- Don’t know that the only place you want their piddles is outside
- They think everything on the counters, tables and floors are free game
- Know for a FACT that anything that moves is placed on this earth for their mouth and to play with
- Think no means hell yes
- Want to run, run, put their face in a cute pose for 6 seconds and then run again

You’ll always have a happy face to greet you at home every day!
