2-year-old, 70-pound Shepherd mix
House-trained / Crate-trained
Very friendly with other dogs, plays appropriately and responds well to social cues.
Must have a cat-free home; Norman has a strong prey instinct.
He does well with kids but has not figured out his size yet and may knock little ones over on accident.
Norman is a very sweet pup who is adorably awkward as he maneuvers on his long legs. He has a lot of energy and some anxiety and will need a home that has a confident human willing to continue working with him on training and give him ample opportunities for exercise each day. He already knows a lot of commands and has started scent training!
Norman is smart and can get bored easily and will try to take and chew on non-toy items, so supervision is needed until he no longer does this as well as daily opportunities for mental stimulation. He also has some separation anxiety, but quickly goes into his crate when it's time to leave.
He loves going for runs, walks, and playing with toys. Squeaking toys are his favorite! He also loves ice cubes for a fun snack. A fenced yard (6 feet or taller) would be amazing for him! He really loves to run and be active. He is a couch potato in the house after his play time. He cannot be off leash as he will not come back. Norman can jump a standard chain link fence and tries to escape.
Norman does well in social settings and likes to go places with his humans and hang out. Like out to dinner, breweries, events, etc.
Norman is a sweetheart and would love to be adopted into an experienced and active home that will take him on all their adventures!
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.
Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the adopter is willing to drive to cities as needed.
