Meet Nora - wounded soul

My soul is crying. My soul is pleading.
My soul is a wounded bird...fatally wounded by love...
What does separation mean? Nothing, but agony and hell.
The darkest misery without end...

If Nora could talk, she would tell you these words... But she can not...

And still, you can read them in her eyes... you can read the desperate call for help!
A little bit over two years old, she was already twice betrayed by the people she loved and trusted most of all.

Nora's first owners got her pregnant when she was only one year old. When the puppies came, the owners found out that it was a hassle and a lot of work to take care of the little pups. From 'Oh so cute' the puppies became 'unwanted, oops, accidental, etc.' No wonder Nora and the babies ended up at a kill shelter.
And when everything was looking like the end, Nora's life turned to a good side. First, her puppies were adopted and after that Nora was adopted as well. Needless to say, she escaped the euthanasia at the very last moment and was beyond herself from happiness.
She immediately fell in love with her new family and decided to try to do her best to not be left out again. Unfortunately she tried too much and it played against her. She thought that it's not enough to simply love her new mom and dad, but that she MUST protect them with all her big brave loving heart. As a result after she growled at a visiting family member, her new mom and dad returned Nora after having her for almost a year.
Can you imagine the fear and confusion of this little girl? To be alone again and why? After all that time trying hard to be a good loving girl? She didn't understand what she did wrong.
And if this is not enough, Nora has had one more disappointment. She very much liked one teenager boy who comes to help at the adoption as a volunteer. The feelings were mutual and as a result she came as a foster dog to the boy's home. See, he would have asked his family to adopt Nora, but they already had three of their own dogs – all rescued. But Nora didn't know that. She simply fell in love with this boy and as she understands love, she had just chosen him. She was really great with the rest of the family, was getting along with the rest of the dogs, but the boy became her one and only person. Nora didn't want anybody else. One really great family drove more than an hour just to meet Nora. They spent about another hour trying to convince her to go with them, but she didn't want to leave the boy… This is why she was not adopted.
At this point it became obvious that Nora could not stay at this foster home anymore, because the more she stayed there the more difficult it would have been for her to separate with the boy and to trust somebody else…
So, she is back at our rescue… And without any doubts, Nora feels betrayed one more time, even though now it is not the case.
But right now she is shy, scared and with a broken heart. She wants to find a new home, but at the same time she can barely trust anybody… It is a witch circle – the more she stays without a home, the more scared and insecure she becomes. The more insecure she becomes – the more difficult it becomes for her to be adopted. And again, the more difficult it becomes for her to be adopted, the longer she stays without being adopted.
But for sure, somewhere there is a great person, or maybe a family of two people who are looking just for that type of the dog. Small and really loyal. Very smart and completely housebroken. (While been in a foster home for more than three weeks, Nora had never had any accident). She does not need to be trained about being around the house. She is great with other dogs. And when Nora starts trusting somebody – she transforms in a loveable playful puppy.
You can see it on the video, where she is playing with the boy she fell in love with at the foster home.
Nora knows and loves to play fetch with a toy. She is great on a leash and likes to have long walks with you. She can even jog. Also she does NOT eat much. And she is truly a lap dog. If you are working on the computer, she could spend hours in your lap not minding at all.
She is a really great dog, whose heart has been broken many times. But if you know what it is like to have a broken heart and if you are patient enough to help Nora to heal her's – you would be rewarded beyond imagination. You will have a truly loyal friend, who will follow you everywhere and will not hesitate to fight a lion to protect you! Nora will not think a single second to give her life to save yours!

Please, if you think this dog is for you, come and meet her. Simply take your time, come in her cage and sit with her and wait for her to come to your lap. After that it will be miracle.
Her sad eyes will stop saying the tragic words you read at the beginning. Instead they will be singing the song of Joy!
