Meet Nora
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization.
Meet NORA!
The name Nora means shining light and we just know that this sweet senior gal will light up the home of anyone lucky to have her. She is a Pug mix (we think Puggle) and at17 years young, Ms. Nora had been in the same home her whole life and now just needs a patient family to let her live out her golden years surrounded by love.
Nora is spayed and UTD. She does have a skin tag on her back leg which has been examined and determined to be benign. She is also completing a round of antibiotics as she tested positive for Lyme when she came into PRoNE.
She is a friendly gal who shows the wisdom of her age by being potty trained, respectful of furniture and welcoming of other furry friends. Typical of any dog, she is super food motivated! She gets along great with the other senior dog in her Foster Home and enjoys chasing the resident cat but only if it runs and purely for fun. Due to her age, she would benefit from more frequent shorter walks. This gal still has plenty of pep left in her step. She will even howl to let you know she has to go out, what a smart lady! She is still a little skeptical of the car but with time feel she will get more comfortable. She loves to walk and will lead the way! Nora hasn't shown any interest in being on the couch or in a bed, she is perfectly content to curl up with tons of fluffy blankets in her crate.
Adoption Requirements for NORA-
Secured yard in yard or space
Companion animal who is older and passive works
Children over 5 are welcome
Owner willing to walk a few times a day to keep her mobile and stimulated
Owner who LOVES the seniors and the feel of a dog at your feet
She would be a great fit for most familes. WFH, part time or a household where she can be checked on every 6 hours (Dog Walker) to provide socialization, to keep her routine and bathroom schedule
Be committed and financially able to provide routine Vet visits, HeartGuard and Flea & Tick preventative
If you believe you would be an
AMAZING
family for
Nora,
please submit an Adoption Application for her! **Being the Superstar Senior she is, PRONE is waiving her Adoption Fee for the perfect home!
If you are interested in adopting, your home situation MUST meet this criteria:
A vet reference check, dog walker check (if applicable), landlord check (if applicable), a phone interview and home visit will be conducted prior to approval. If you think a pug is right for your family and you meet the criteria, please apply to adopt on our website at www.pugrescueofnewengland.org.
BE SURE TO REFERENCE THE SPECIFIC PUG!
Our mission is simple: we find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in New England. Our pugs will be UTD on shots and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. You must be a resident of the New England states. Due to a change in state regulations, we are no longer adopting outside of New England.
PRoNE is supported by adoption fees, donations and funds raised through auctions and events. Adoption fees range from $200-$1,000 which is based on age of the dog. Effective in January 2023, we have imposed a $150 Spay/Neuter Fee (if required) and a $500 Transportation Fee (For dogs requiring air/cargo travel).
