Nora is an 11lb female shih tzu who is estimated to be about 3 years old. She and her 2 9 week old puppies joined the rescue after being released by the puppy mill.Nora is an absolute sweet heart. Nora's front legs are bow-legged but that does not slow her down too much. She has a back knee that gives her some trouble from time to time, but we had it checked out by the vet, and vet says she is fine at this time. As she gets older it is possible she may need further treatment. Because of this, she is a little slower than the average 3yr old, and does need help to get up any size stairs.She lets her foster mom pick her up and help her get around though no problem.
Nora will be best in a home with adults only as she take a little time to warm up and is relatively low energy - she does love to play with toys and can get the zoomies but overall her demeanor is quite calm. Because of her time spent in the mill, Nora is not potty trained and will need someone who can be home with her a majority of the day, to get her into a routine where she can learn and be patient and understanding with her.
With all mill dogs, she has always been around other dogs, and is required to have a well established playmate in the home as it will help her adjust. She gets along great with other dogs, but because of her size and more limited mobility, the resident dog will need to be small and respectful of her limits. Nora is only just getting used to going outside and she likes to go at her own pace. She has never walked on a leash and a fenced in yard would be best for her as she cannot walk long distances and does better getting to sniff around on her own. Nora is an absolute love bug, she loves to get pets, sit on her foster moms lapp, and she loves to sleep flat on her back every night in bed. Whenever she sees you she will wag her tail uncontrollably. She warmed up very quick out of the mill and will be an excellent addition to the right home. if you are in the Rochester NY area and think Nora could be a good fit to your family, please apply.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.

Adoption fees:
Puppy to 1 yr of age: $275 to $400
1 yr to 6 yrs of age: $250 -$350
6 yrs to 8 yrs of age: $200 -250
Over 9 yrs of age: Adoption fee varies
*NOTE* Purebreds and Designer breeds, regardless of age are $325 to $400
