Meet Ruger

Meet Ruger! Ruger came to CCHS as a stray. He was born around 3/1/2021 and weighs close to 50 pounds. We were told that he came from an Amish farm but they didn't want him back because he liked to chase everything. Ruger is a focused dog. He would do best in a home that has a job for him to do. It may not be working cattle as we're not sure if he did that or just ran after everything on the road. He is a by your side companion, but isn't a lap dog and doesn't want to be held. His purpose in life is to watch over you and chase away the bad stuff. He was adopted and returned due to the adopters failing health. The family felt a home without kids would be best for him as he does nip, a trait that is typical for a Heeler. He was great in the home and rides well in a car. He loves to go for walks and play with a jolly ball toy. Apply for him today!

The adoption fee is $100.00. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Erlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS
