Meet Ninja Pup

We are big believers in Fate here at Save the Animals Foundation ... but with Ninja approaching SIX MONTHS in our shelter, I have to wonder if Fate took a wrong turn in delivering his family-to-be? This is one GREAT DOG, people! He's got a sweet temperament and calm energy--easy-going, relaxed and friendly as can be, both with people and other dogs. He is well-mannered with a love of lounging, cuddling and walks. In fact, he's one of our best walkers ... actually sashays like a show dog, which is the cutest thing ever with those squat little legs and duck feet of his. He is handsome in the most wonderfully unconventional sense of the word ... and he is looking for that special someone who embraces being different and offbeat.

Ever the optimist, Ninja is having a grand old time hanging out at the shelter, taking walks with volunteers and attending doggy daycare. (Shout out to our friends and supporters at Red Dog Pet Resort and The Pet Spot!) We just feel sorry for his family-to-be, for every day they are missing out on the companionship of this awesome soul.

Ninja Pup and his mom, Mama Rosey (who has since been adopted), made their way to our shelter after being abandoned by their owner at a county pound with a very high euthanasia rate. Ninja is approximately 2 1/2 years old and around 45 pounds. Our best guess on his breed is basset hound mixed with either pointer (he has the ticking/flecks) or labrador (just look at those eyes!). One of a kind!

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Invisible fences: Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog’s profile.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 75-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.

Please visit www.STAF.org for visiting hours, a downloadable application, and additional information.
