Say "hello" to Nina. She and Bea are sisters that we are working to place together if possible. Nina is a happy adventurous gal that very outgoing and loves people attention. She is cool hanging out with her sis too as well as social with other dogs. She can be apprehensive when meeting new people at first but if you move slowly with introductions before you know it she will be leaning on you looking for pets. She is a bt more dominant in her personality than her sister so she can take a little longer to warm up. Like her sister she will need someone who can work with her on leash manners. Before coming to GLWR the girls were never walked on a leash and so they become a bit pensive and nervous when tethered. She does not mind being crated until you are comfortable allowing her to free roam but once allowed she has not had any issue being allowed to wander. She is a quiet girl when crated and not barky or obnoxious. She enjoys running and playing outside with the other dogs and has good recall and is quite mindful. She has a good energy level and loves to play outside. She is very smart and understands and can execute basic obedience commands and truly wants to please. She is loving and likes to cuddle if given the opportunity. If you are in the market for a pair of weims Nina and her sister Bea might just be the gals for you. Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weims in the Great Lakes region; including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.

GLWR is headquartered in Michigan with a network of foster homes in our State & Country Chapters. We do not have a shelter that is open for the public to visit. All applicants must be approved before meeting any dog in our foster network.

GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to meet one of our dogs fostered in one of our Satellite Chapters, then you are welcome to apply for adoption. All dogs not listed as being fostered in a specific State or Country Chapter, are fostered in Michigan.
