Niles is a very smart and sweet dog. He is learning basic commands and knows how to sit and gets so excited for his training treats. He loves to explore, loves his toys and playing with other dogs. He loves walks in the woods, finding treats in snuffle mats and enrichment games.
Niles is very affectionate with humans, but he does need time to get to know you. He LOVES to be held when he’s tired and will snuggle on your lap. He is super well behaved and enjoys going to work with his foster mom. He loves car rides and is gaining confidence with new adventures!
He would do best with a fenced yard, although this is not mandatory. He will also benefit from basic obedience/puppy training to build confidence. He is nervous in new situations.
We do not know how he would be in a home with cats. They were cat tested at the shelter and passed, but they were scared at the time so we don't know how accurate that would be now they're exuberant personalities are shining.
Niles really likes to interact with other dogs but we feel he would do best as an only dog in the home. He is protective of his things and has shown signs of resource guarding with a dog in his foster home. But Niles would still love the opportunity to romp and play with other dogs!
