Meet Nico
Nico is a young boy who arrived at the shelter as a big fluff ball (see the before and after pictures!) with a large personality and a lot of energy. He is settling in well and enjoys new experiences.
Nico has a great deal of puppy energy and is learning to control his impulses which is a good thing due to his size! At times he forgets his manners and jumps in his eagerness to play or to get attention. He is quickly diverted with a reminder of his known behavior cues or a thrown toy. Nico has the same enthusiasm on his walks, but his leash manners are good, and he is eager to please his humans.
His previous owner claimed that he is crate trained and lived well with a smaller dog. Nico needs a slow introduction to other dogs, and he can be dog selective.
Nico has the potential to be a wonderful companion in an adult home and one that is savvy with possible resource guarding. He is sure to provide a great deal of amusement and liveliness.
The shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting. The staff is very accommodating, and we welcome any inquires.
