Meet sweet boy Nico. Nico came to us due to his family moving and they could not take him with them. This dog is simply amazing and as loyal as they come!!
Nico is FULL of energy. This guy needs an active home with people that will play with him and provide stimulating activities. Due to his energy level, Nico should not go to a home with children under the age of 8. His new home should be prepared to buy lots of toys because he is an avid chewer and loves to play with all types of toys. He does not do destructive chewing as long as he has a toy. He’s picked up a couple of items that he THOUGHT were toys, but hey it was soft and chewy and right at nose level!!
When Nico gets walked, his energy level comes down significantly. He is good on a leash, but when walked with another dog he does pull for a bit until he tires out. Need a good running buddy? This is your guy!! He pays little attention to other dogs other than sometimes wanting to say hello if they seem friendly. He is not reactive at all and will walk by a barking dog with barely a side-eye.
Nico is house-trained and crate trained. He gets along well with other dogs and plays constantly with his foster sister. But his #1 priority is being around his people. He does great at the dog park and is friendly with everyone. He’s a little unsure about car rides, but with more exposure to going fun places, we’re sure he’ll learn. He just hasn’t gone many places in the car in his life.
Nico is good with being groomed, which is a good thing because he does have a double coat. He will need to be regularly brushed to keep the shedding down. He has the most beautiful shiny black coat you’ve ever seen!
He doesn’t have much training under his belt, but he’s eager to please and a fast learner. He is very smart! Spend some time training with him and he’ll be an amazing and well-behaved companion. He’ll do anything for a bite of an apple!
