Meet Nick 8/16/10

I guess you could say Nicholas was adopted by the greatest father of all. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge on September 15, 2010. It was a very hard decision but he was in so much pain here on earth. He will be greatly missed by us and all the volunteers who came to love him.

My name is Nicholas. I was shoved out the door and left on the street. The neighbor boy told animal control my name and where I lived, but my family would not answer the door. Since I was old and not in the best of health, I figured my fate was pretty much sealed. But miracles do happen. A rescue was willing to give me a chance at a future and happiness.

You see, I had some trauma to my intestines and it kinked making it very painful for me to poop. The vet said surgery was not in my best interest (I’m 9 years old and the kink is in a difficult place), so my rescue mom decided proper nutrition might help. It sure does! I get a special diet with all kinds of good tasting and healthy food. It has made so much difference in relieving the pain of my health problems. I “go” almost like a normal dog and no pain.

I get to live inside the house and be with humans and other dogs. I never have any ‘accidents’. I get to spend my time just being a friend to people and other dogs. That is all well and good, but I would really like to feel more special. I would really like to have a forever family of my own where my attention was not hindered by a dozen other dogs gathering around for brushing and petting. My rescue mom will even include a month supply of ingredients for my special diet. It only takes a few minutes to prepare so not a lot of trouble.

Please consider adopting me. I probably still have 6 years to give of the most devoted love and loyalty you could ever experience.

Ozark Dogs Rescue only adopts to companion homes where the dog will have inside privileges. A 5' fence is usually required but there are exceptions. Adoption donation for Nicholas is at the adopters discretion. Our primary goal is to find him the very best forever home who will give him the special love he has missed in his past.
