Meet Nero – A good ol' country boy with a heart of gold and a spirit of resilience. After a tough start, surviving on his own in an abandoned building on the streets of Houston, Nero is ready to leave his past behind and embrace a life full of love, comfort, and companionship.

Around 5 to 6 years old and weighing 64 pounds, Nero is an adventurous, loyal friend who’s full of character. While he’s agile enough to clear a 6-foot fence, a 7-foot fence or regular walks will keep him safe and happy. He loves being in the car, eagerly joins you for outings, and has a hearty appetite, especially for good treats!

Nero thrives on attention and affection from his people, so he’d be happiest as an only dog, though with a slow introduction, he could warm up to another larger, easygoing dog. This guy is looking for a home with space to stretch his legs, ideally a large fenced yard, but he’ll be just as content with a loving family who can take him on regular walks.
