This handsome boy is a 1.5 year old Retriever/Shepherd mix who is in search of the perfect individual, couple, or family to fill his life with love. Poor Neo has experienced quite a bit of loss recently - and would benefit from a kind, understanding, and patient family to help him transition into his new home.
Despite the many life changes Neo has experienced, he remains an affectionate, loyal, silly and playful pup. He enjoys romping around in the yard, long walks with his foster pawrents, and finally curling up on the couch to binge watch his foster parents’ favorite series. Neo would benefit from an active adoptive family - but equally knows how to settle down at the end of the day.
Neo has been described by his foster family as confident, easy-going, and loving in trusted and predictable environments. He warms up quickly to new people - and receives direction well. He is very eager to learn and would benefit from a family willing to continue his training. He strives to be the best he can for his family - and he deserves someone who will recognize his efforts!
Although Neo has previously happily lived with other dogs, he has experienced some reactivity since losing his home (and canine siblings). Understandably, with the loss of his family, he lost some of his confidence. His foster family has been working very hard - and with a trainer - to help Neo work through some of his sensitivities.
Neo is the perfect size. He is about 45/50 pounds. He is house trained and crate trained! He would benefit from living in a quiet neighborhood - or even better - having a fenced in backyard to stretch his long legs in! At this time, Neo would do best in a home as an only dog - or with a family who is willing to move through slow introductions with a more mature and laid-back dog. Neo has previously lived with small children, but we would recommend a home with children over the age of 10.
