Sweet Nell has a way of charming people. In October she was taken to Countyview Vet in Kinston to be treated for a neck injury, apparently from a dog attack. They liked her so much that after she was treated, they committed to keep her until a good rescue situation was found. So she arrived at Red Barn Rescue on January 20th and is winning our hearts already!

Nell is a 22-pound Feist mix, approximately 3 to 5 years old. She likes dogs and plays well with dogs of similar size. She loves her walks and would enjoy an owner who wants a walking partner. She is bright-eyed and alert, enjoys sniffing and investigating as she walks.

She is a little careful of new people, but within minutes her tail is wagging and she is receptive and loving. Her past is unknown, but because she is a bit uncertain of some circumstances we think her owners should be adults without small kids which may make her nervous.

Nell will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. She had tested positive for heartworms and has already begun treatment. Our $300 adoption fee helps to cover these expenses.
