The Natl Parks puppies were born to Mama Mistletoe on 12/27/22 and are 4-5 months old. Mama was rescued from a hoardings situation along with several other dogs and gave birth in a DPS foster home, where she lived with her babies until they turned 8 weeks. The whole family is now ready to find their forever homes!

The foster says:

We keep the puppies in a large enclosure in our living room, which is filled with cozy beds and lots of fun toys to play with. This is where they sleep, and they are mostly quiet throughout the night. If they wake up before us, they are usually very good about entertaining themselves in their area until we wake up. Sometimes they will start to bark or make noise before we're out of bed - usually only if they hear something outside, or if they hear us talking in the other room. When we come out of our room in the morning, they are ecstatic to see us, and can't wait for us to come over and pick them up for a snuggle session!

Usually I cuddle and play with them in the morning while my husband quickly goes around their enclosure and cleans up any mess from overnight. We have a specific area of their enclosure dedicated to being their "bathroom" - it's about 4 ft x 4 ft and enclosed on 3 sides, with the 4th side opening up into their play area. They are really really good about going potty in their "bathroom"! I would guess that around 75% of the time they go there, with occasional accidents elsewhere. Almost all of their poops are in the bathroom :)

We leave both wet and dry puppy food out for them at all times, and they graze on it throughout the day and night. Usually they munch on their dry food overnight, and then in the morning they eat their wet food. They don't really have dedicated eating times, since they just eat a little bit whenever they're hungry, and we refill the bowls whenever they are low. They always have a water bowl out as well, and they are very good little water drinkers, so it gets refilled often!

After we've cleaned up their area and refilled their food and water bowls, we let the puppies out of their area and give them free reign of the whole house for a bit. This is their favorite time of the day! We turn on some music that they like, and dance around the kitchen with them. The cat likes to get involved in this tradition too. Eventually we herd them back into their enclosure, and they all curl up for a long nap.

During the day, they alternate between vigorous play sessions and long nap sessions. They have lots of energy whenever they wake up, so they will chase each other around and around until they're tired out again. While they're playing, there's lots of play growling / barking / grunting. They LOVE all kinds of toys, and can't get enough of their toys! They like to play tug with each other, sometimes even with 3 or 4 puppies at a time. They like to carry around their plushies, and chew on soft puppy Nylabone toys. They've also been enjoying slowly destroying a cardboard box cat scratcher as a team. They're very mouthy right now, so they will playfully nip and nibble on everything (including people). When that happens, we try to redirect them to a chew toy. They sometimes have a naughty habit of ripping up their pee pads, so again we try to redirect them to another toy, but we've learned that basically anything that lives in the puppy area is fair game (couch corners, rugs, etc).

These pups love to snuggle! When we're on the couch, they will come over and demand to be picked up and put on the couch with us (they're still too small to jump up on their own). Whenever they nap, they usually all melt together into a puppy pile. They have lots of beds, including two different "cave" beds and a swinging egg chair - all of which they love to pile into together so they're nice and squished and cozy.

These puppies are just total sweethearts! They love people and really want to be good puppies. We have been impressed with how smart they are - don't let their small size fool you! We know they will all be wonderful and loyal family members in their fur-ever families!

Zion (M) - this guy may be the smallest, but he's also the smartest of the bunch! He's a very easygoing and happy little guy. He's one of the quieter ones, and doesn't bark very much. Before we trimmed his nails, he figured out how to vertically scale the couch - so even though he's the smallest he was the only one who could get onto the couch! He also figured out how to pull open the side of the enclosure, so we have to reinforce it with a table so he doesn't open it up for a puppy jailbreak. He's also one of the most consistent about going potty in their dedicated bathroom area, with almost no accidents outside of the area. He's the whole (tiny) package!

The puppies are only an option for homes that have owned a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children they should be over the age of 5.
