Nash ADOPTED! Boston Terrier Redmond, WA

 

Nash is a 5 year old purebred Boston Terrier.  He only weighs 11 pounds!  He is very sweet and loveable with his pink tongue poking out of his mouth.  However, he is a special needs Boston. 

 

Nash was born with birth defects.  He has a high arched back and his front paws turn out, but this doesn’t slow him down.  He appears very skinny but, he eats well.  He is not neutered because it is thought that he would not live through the surgery.  He is not fully house trained and has a tendency to sometimes mark his territory.  Nash will need to continue to work on his potty training.

 

Nash has the cognitive abilities to understand that going potty in the house is not a good thing.  He also knows some basic commands.  He is fearful of loud noises and yelling.  He tends to walk in circles to move from point A to point B, so a patient owner is a must. 

 

He has lived with other dogs and cats, but doesn’t understand why cats won’t play with him.  He loves people, laps, car rides, and his mini tennis ball. Nash can take short walks, but can be stubborn if he decides that he has gone far enough.  But no matter where you go people want to pet and love on him!  He is a character and doesn’t lack personality!     

 

Nash’s perfect family would be one that is VERY patient with him and accepts him the way he is.  His family would have  children over 8.  Someone would be home most of the time to help him make better choices and they wouldn’t raise their voices to him. They would take him for daily walks.  His family would continue using a positive reinforcement system to help Nash succeed in his potty training.  This will help with bonding and provide clear positive communication in his new home.  Nash would do best as an only dog or with another small mellow dog.

Adoptions are NOT done on a first-come basis - rather we match each dog's temperament with that of a prospective new adopter as well as the adopter's pets /family situation to help insure more successful adoptions of rescue dogs. Home visit evaluations and reference checks will be required.


Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue (SPDR) is a non-profit 501C3 non-profit charity organization that is run completely on donations. Your donations provide funding for rescued dogs' medical expenses such as health checks, neuter/spay surgeries, worming, vaccinations, microchip, boarding fees and possibly training.
