Naomi, Wynnona and two other dog siblings each got a one-way ticket to the pound for chasing their owner's livestock. (Left outside to their own devices, what else would a self-respecting dog do for entertainment? Possibly even sustenance?)

Anyway, we had a heart-to-heart with the girls ... when asked if they would do it again, they confess that HECK YEAH they would!!! If, however, your yard is not populated with sheep or chickens, please consider one of these lovely, loving girls for adoption. Neither tail has stopped wagging since they arrived here at STAF. We imagine they'll wag even harder when they find their forever homes.

Naomi is around 1 1/2 years old and 40 pounds. We are just getting to know her, so please check back for additional insights.

Note on breed: As with so many of our strays, our guess on breed mix is just that--our and our vets' best guess. Rather than focus on the breed mystery, we try to get to know our dogs as individuals and share that information with adopters.

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Invisible fences: Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog’s profile.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 75-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
