Naomi Whippet & Dalmatian Mix Port Townsend, WA

Hi, my name is Naomi! I am approximately 6 years old. I came to HSJC from Kauai Humane Society last summer, and was quickly adopted! However my owners couldn't care for me, so I'm back looking for my forever home.

I am a sweet, shy girl. I weigh 30 lbs. currently. I came back to the shelter because I have an instinct to run, and I'm good at slipping out the door. I am in need of a home with a securely fenced yard. I also really want to live with a doggie friend! A confident dog will help show me the ropes. I don't even like to play with toys all on my own. Experience with sight hound type breeds would be a plus for me.

I like quiet time with people, just gentle petting and soothing words. I am hoping for a quiet home where I can be a "homebody" with you - I'm not going to be a "go everywhere with you" girl, that will be too overwhelming for me. I did go on field trips while I was in Kauai, and I will be able to go on the occasional adventure/hike with my people once I'm settled in and bonded with my new family. After a trip over the ocean and all the misadventures that led me to where I am now, it may take me some time of just hanging out at home with you to feel confident that this is where I'm staying and truly bond with you. I'm hoping for a patient, loving family who will understand this.

I am up to date on my rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine and micro-chipped too. I have been heartworm tested (negative) and kept up to date on heartworm preventative medication (this will need to continue for the next 6 months).
