Meet Nancy
Look at that alert, beautiful face. Nancy is a sweet and adorable cattle dog who is independent and playful. This laid-back herding dog mostly just goes with the flow. Just under 2 years old and less than 25 pounds, she's just a little bit of a thing. She loves toys and sure enjoys dinnertime. You'd never know it when you're with her, but Nancy was likely born with hydrocephalus, which is a buildup of fluid in the brain. It's pretty amazing how the brain compensates: Nancy is a typical, loving pup.
Nancy is house-trained and is amazing in her crate. She is super with kids and is OK with other dogs, but can get really excited with puppies and smaller dogs. She is a little farsighted but it doesn't keep her from playing and going on adventures. Nancy takes just a pill every day to make sure no more fluid builds up. We don't suspect she will get worse, but if she ever needs surgical intervention for her condition, the rescue will take care of it.
Nancy knows sit and has great recall. She needs a home with fewer (or no) dogs so she can get the attention she deserves. Because she has difficulty with stairs, complete flights aren't an option. She plays well on her own so she doesn't necessarily need someone who will be with her all day. She requires a home (no apartments) with a fenced-in yard. Nancy will only be adopted in the greater St. Louis area or central Illinois.
