Nana's Story

Meet Nana!

Go bananas for Nana!

Nana is an 8-year-old bundle of energy with hops as big as her spirit. This resilient pup has beaten cancer and is now looking for her next big adventure with a loving, playful family.

Playful:
Nana might be middle-aged, but she can keep up with your shenanigans. While she is a proficient keep-away-er, and loves a good game of tug-of-war, Nana’s favorite thing to do is roughhouse with her humans and toys. Nana is vocal during playtime and her foster parent’s find her grumbles and barks adorable. Nana is also very smart and very quickly calms down when playtime is over.

Happy & Hoppy:
Nana is the hoppiest dog her foster parents have ever had and is so endlessly full of jumps. Her previous foster mom called her a “hoppy hippo”. Nana can be a bit tactless when another dog is in her way and she will often jump over or side-check her slower foster-dog sisters to get to where she wants to go. Nana has also performed impressive arial stunts to obtain toys from unsuspecting foster dogs. Despite loving to jump, Nana does not typically jump on or “push” people and does not counter surf.

Loyal:
Nana is more attached to her foster “dad”. She listens for him to come home and tends to follow him around the house, in and out of the house and on his errands. She loves to bring him toys and initiate play. She is also protective of “her” bedroom in the home. She likes to bring and store her toys in her room. While she has become a big fan of cuddling on the couch and snoozing in bed, she still retreats to her room frequently just for quiet time.

Nana has been in foster homes with other female dogs from 3mo-8 yrs. Although she has gotten along with them, she's protective of her toys and food, so she would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention. Nana's ideal family will be patient in understanding her needs and provide the loving, secure environment she deserves.

Misc ABOUT NANA!
Nana loves car rides and is a passenger princess! She has never had an accident in the house, even with schedule changes. Nana loves blankies. She has been known to disappear under them and wear them around the house. She also loves playing with her blankies and “peek-a-boo”.

Why Adopt Nana?
Nana will always be happy to see you. Nana’s energy will keep you entertained and bring lots of laughs into your home. She is loyal and will be your ride or die. Nana’s journey as a cancer-surviving stray from Alabama is a testament to her resilience and love of life, no matter what struggles it may bring. Nana will be your most devoted friend, you just have to provide the snuggles, blankies, and lots and lots of toys.

Nana is available for adoption through Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue based out of Watertown, WI. Nana is spay/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption fee is $250.

Interested in meeting Nana?

All Ma, Paws & Me Pet Rescue dogs are in homes with foster families; we do not have a shelter where dogs are available for daily viewing.

Our process is as follows:
1.
