A NOTE FROM NALA'S FOSTER MOMMA:  I have had the pleasure of being Nala’s foster mom for several weeks and she is the sweetest mannered dog you could ever ask for. She has a strong prey drive, however, and would not be good with cats or chickens in the family.
She has cared for her 8 puppies for over 6 weeks and is still loving and attentive to all of them. Having bonded with Nala, this will be an adjustment for both of us but if there was ever a dog who deserved a loving home, it’s Nala.
Coming from a bad situation with her 8 puppies was extremely difficult for her since she had been abused by her previous owner to punish her for getting pregnant! Have you ever heard of such a stupid premise? Whose fault was it that she turned up pregnant? The owner’s, of course. After having been starved inside a shed to the point of near death, she paid the price nursing her puppies who today are all fat and happy! Having gone from not enough strength to walk to running in the yard, her days have improved nearly 100%!
In her past life I can tell she has enjoyed playing with balls and toys. She will fetch the ball and recognize the ball as fun. She must have had a previous owner who actually treated her well and then under circumstances that we will never understand, thinks changed. How can she still be so sweet? She prefers women so I’m assuming the abusive owner was a man. She enjoys chew raw hides, pig ears, chicken jerky, milk bones and marrow bones. I’m quite sure she likes all treats and deserves treats and love more than any dog I’ve ever known. My dogs are spoiled and have been for years —- this is what Nala deserves as well. She has been good with my two dogs but wants to lunge for my cats. I have not been able to let her roam our yard because of the cats and the chickens but I know there is a loving home out there WITHOUT cats and chickens and that home is for Nala!
Please consider this sweet girl who deserves a forever home with people who love her and value her sweet personality. Nala should be ready for her new home by Oct. 29th.
She is housebroken from what we can tell around here, gets along great with other dogs, good with adults and kids. Her adoption fee is $200.00.
