Naiome Dutch Shepherd Mix Glendale, AZ

Saving Paws Rescue was recently approached by a active military member who had adopted a dog he loved from a local shelter. They were doing well and he suddenly was informed that he would be deployed and no one would be able to care for Naiome. With broken heart and tremendous sadness she was re-surrendered back to the shelter. She had prior placements and he was informed that she would not likely be re-adopted but facing euthanasia. He couldn't take her back, but he and his family started working to network and find his girl a safe place to be. We had a kennel open so Naiome was picked up by our volunteer Kelly. She was expecting a standard sized Dutch Shepherd. She saw Naiome come out and was wowed by her tall and stunning presence.

We are getting to know Naiome and she may be spending some time in training to be sure that her new home is her forever home. Naiome is so very young (about 1 year old) and you can see her youthfulness the minute she runs for the pool. She has quickly responded well with all volunteers and enjoys play time. Naome will require a home with an experienced GSD/Malinois or Dutch handler and with children over 12 since she is a very big strong girl and can knock over small children just running by. We suspect she will also be best as an only dog, but will be working with our trainer to best identify the best home for her.
