Meet Mustang

Practically perfect in every way! The easiest foster ever! These are how Mustang's foster mom describes him.

What's not to like? He is housebroken, crate trained (but doesn't need it), calm, mellow, an easy walker, a good eater, a great car passenger. He loves people, especially children, and seems to be fine with other dogs.

Mustang is thriving in an all-adult household, but he loves to have visitors, especially children. Because he is an older guy, he does not jump on people, he is not mouthy, he doesn't bother anything when you are gone, and he is not much for playing. If you pat or rub him he'll be your friend for life. He does love his naps, and he is happy to sleep late in the morning if that's your choice.

Mustang learned every inch of the house in the first few hours in his foster home. Because he is blind, he uses his senses of smell and hearing to figure out his environment. The only time he may walk into something is first thing in the morning, and we all know about that! When he is out walking, his foster mom watches the terrain for hazards like potholes or dropoffs and gives a gentle tug to pull him aside. He knows where mailboxes and trash cans are and goes around them.

Mustang must have lived in a home before. He has to be invited onto furniture a few times before he will climb up. He can go up/down one or two steps easily, while he takes steps to a different floor slowly. He can jump on the bed-but he only does it when foster mom leaves in her car; at night he sleeps on his bed in the bedroom. He is a real sweetheart! And when he wants your attention, he puts his head on your leg and gives you a sigh: "Time to love on me, please.

This wonderful dog deserves a home; will it be yours?
