Meet Murphy
Is he mixed with Corgi? A basset? Maybe a Doxie? Who knows? But I can tell you one thing, he was almost a foster fail! Murphy is a delight! He is silly and playful but also cuddly and calm. He LOVES to walk and is fantastic on a leash. He is crate trained and goes 8 hours easily overnight without a peep. He is house trained as well, although he does mark in the house sometimes, but it's sporadic. He seems to mark on things that come from outside the house, which makes sense. He pees on everything on his walks! Murphy is an adult but probably between 1-2 years old.
Murphy has gotten along amazingly with my older pit, and actually gets her to play every day. I have only had him around one other dog, but I think he would get along with all types. He matches my dog's style of play which is fairly calm, they don't wrestle. The best part about Murphy is how amazing he is with my cats! I have a blind kitten I'm fostering at the same time and they are best buds! They play and cuddle!
When Murphy got here from West Virginia, he did have a little stranger danger, and nipped a few times. That's a long, scary trip! He doesn't seem to like being touched around the head by strangers. However, I've had friends come and walk him when I was gone for a long day, and while he was a little tense being leashed up, he didn't bite. Once he warms up, he is such a love!
Murphy doesn't seem to like small children, so kids must be 12 or over to adopt.
Overall, I think whoever ends up with Murphy will be a lucky person! I've been fostering for years and this is the first little guy that I've considered keeping. He would love a forever home with a buddy, a friendly cat or a dog!
