Muffin's Story

Muffin is a 7-month-old, 13-pound mini shepherd/chihuahua mix from Texas! Muffin is a sweet, loving, gentle, and very calm pup. He's a gem!

He has adjusted very well / is continuing to adjust during his time in NYC and The Hamptons. Muffin enjoys playing, snuggling, and his daily training. He is doing well understanding sit and working on other obedience training. During his time with his foster family, he seems to be housebroken and does all potty outside on walks. No accidents in the house.

Muffin needs a little more time getting used to walking on a leash, but is doing pretty well and doesn't pull. Sometimes he sits down when he sees another dog that he wants meet. He's very friendly and wants to say hi to all the dogs!

Muffin has done wonderfully in his crate whenever he is put in it. He sleeps through the night without a peep and shows no signs of separation anxiety. When placed in a crate during the day he is perfectly content and doesn't make a sound.

He loves to be cozy with his foster family and when you are done with training or playing with him, he just goes to his doggy bed and lays there completely content. He seems very content alone but also loves to be around other dogs. He is just fine as the only dog and also was wonderful with a weekend visiting pup. The two played together all weekend and after the visit Muffin is very content with just his foster's family.

We would recommend Muffin go to a home with or without children as he is very gentle and mellow.

Muffin seems very adaptable to any kind of environment and would be great with any family!

Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Flea and tick prevention due 5/10. Heartworm prevention due 5/1.

Please apply using the following instructions if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails: Visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application.
