MEET MIX AND MATCH Moses - an American Pit Bull mix who came to us from another shelter. Moses looks like three dogs were cut and pasted into one animal -- his head is too big, legs are too short, body is too long. He's only about 40 pounds and he's one of the cutest things we've seen in a long time! He's also a Staff favorite and was voted "Volunteer Favorite" in June. He's a medium energy dog...he's not bonkers but he still loves to play. He picked up every toy in the yard but was most interested in balls. This cutie played 'chase me' and 'tug' with our volunteer but was also happy to be independent while our volunteer took care of some other tasks in the play yard. This handsome boy would benefit from a basic obedience class and other confidence building exercises. His leash skills are NEARLY perfect. He will need a home without YOUNG children because he is not used to kids and his growly play style may be a bit intimidating; he should be fine with older children. He can be choosy about his dog friends but does well with dogs his own size...though he cares more to play with the people than the dogs in our playgroups. He's sweet, he has big puppy dog eyes, and his overall appearance is very distinctive. He's a favorite with our R.A.C.E Team. They said he's "just the nicest dog you'd ever want to meet". He's a moderate paced runner which was expected for being a medium energy dog. After about 2 1/2 miles...he was done running and spent more time smelling the roses. He was an SPCA representative for the Annapolis 4th of July parade - we learned even riding in a convertible and being mobbed by people doesn't phase him! He's been with us since March and we just don't understand why such a stellar dog has been here so long...we think he must have the most AMAZING home on the way. Come peek at him today - he will make you smile.
