Meet Moose! Moose, Mooser, Mr. Moose, Moostipher.
Moose came from a hoarding situation. Put in a kennel, little human contact. When a couple got him, he was covered in urine and feces and terrified. For 9 months they tried to rehabilitate him, but he continued to hide under the bed all day. So, they contacted us.
When Moose got to his foster, he was shut down and hid in his kennel . After a few days he started venturing out in brief increments.. after a couple more days he let his foster mama start to pet him. Fast forward to today, Moose runs and plays with all the other dogs, jumps up on his foster mama's lap, wants to snuggle and be pet. He is still very scared of strangers, but given time love and space, he will learn that not all humans are bad. Right now, he needs to wear a belly band, but we hope once he is neutered that potty training will be a breeze.
We are looking for a special foster to adopt this 8-year-old young man. Given Moose’s past, he cannot have a normal adoption.
We are only taking applications from interested people in the Rochester area. We want Moose to have 2-5 encounters with his special person before actually being adopted. He does prefer females over males.

Moose's adoption fee is $350 + MN state sales tax.
