Moose Pit Bull Terrier Mix Portland, OR

Hi! I am aptly named Moose, in part due to my stature but more so for my big heart! I love everyone and just want to hang out with my people! Family Dogs rescued me with the help of Fences for Fido. They found me living on a chain after being a shop dog for many years. I’m so excited to have a second chance to be a part of a family!

I’m pretty chill as a senior, but still love to have fun! I love a little tug-o-war or chasing after a tennis ball. Sniffing in the yard, playing with my toys and following my people around are some of my favorite things! Those activities make me so joyful that I am prone to prance gently out of joyfulness. I also love to go on walks, and even though my leash skills are lacking, I am attentive when being taught something new I have improved significantly with my current foster already! Nonetheless, until I am fully trained, I am going to need someone who is strong enough to manage me and willing to teach me to not pull. But I have an excellent trainer who is happy to help and is offering continued support after I am adopted.

Inside the house, I’m great! I’m house trained, but might need a few more potty breaks in the beginning if I feel a bit nervous in my new home. My current foster thinks I can be taught many new things, especially if there is a juicy treat at the end! I have excellent manners when getting a treat using my soft mouth.

And when it comes to people, I have yet to meet a person I haven’t fallen in love with immediately. I just want to lean against your leg for comfort and love, or curl up next to you on the couch for some snuggles and movie time. I’m not sure how I would be with a cat, but I like dogs. It’s better if they are mellow like me though. At my age, young and energetic can be a bit much. I prefer to mosey around and not get too excited.
