Mooney Papillon Mix Denver, CO

Hey Everyone- Mooney here! I am about 5 years old, papillon mix. You might recognize me from the past. Unfortunately, my last home wasn't the best fit for me. I have been adopted out twice now and sadly it just didn't work out. No worries! Third time's the charm right, and I am hopeful that I will have the perfect family for me.

I am a very good boy but I learned I do not like rough play with kids or needing to share the attention with a new baby. When I am pushed past my boundaries I feel the need to defend myself by nipping . I haven't gotten to properly learn how to interact with a child and still don't fully understand how to coexist with them safely.

I love to play fetch and will play with other people as long as they play gently with me. I can get possessive with my toys when they are taken from my mouth. No worries though! You can just get me a lot of different toys to play with. I enjoy nice walks and like to be cuddled. I really want to be a big part of my new family's life.

How our adoption process works:
1. You MUST come into the shelter to meet a dog you are interested in (and meet a few others, while you’re at it!)

We do not require appointments – come anytime during normal business hours.

Our hours are 10-5 Mon, Wed, Thu Fri / 11-5 Saturday / 12-5 Sunday

We suggest you call ahead to be sure the dog(s) do not have pending applications

2. You will fill out your adoption application, including references, after finding a dog you’d like to adopt

3. The application review and reference checks will take up to 3-5 business days; you will not be able to bring a dog home same-day

We only take 2 applications per dog, before they are unavailable. This is why we suggest you call ahead to check the status of the pup!



We do not adopt out-of-state.
