Meet Mookie!

This sweet young boy is 16 weeks old and on the hunt for his new forever family! Mookie currently weighs in at approximately 12 pounds. Mookie, his littermates, and his mom (Leia) were surrendered to the rescue when he was 2 weeks old. Mama Leia was found as a stray and the nice family who took her in set her up in a safe, comfortable place for her to have her puppies, and the adorable family is happy, healthy, and growing in their foster home!

Mama Leia is a 13 pound Shiba Inu mix and we believe these pups will probably be a little bit larger than her. We believe they will end up being small to medium size dogs when they're full grown.

Mookie is a very independent, outgoing, and curious pup. He likes to be involved in everything going on in the house. His curiosity gets the better of him at times, and could probably get him into trouble...like when he got his head stuck several times in the same gate. Oh puppies! He gets along well with the other dogs in the house, and has not been around cats.

UPDATE #2 from Mookie's foster mom - Mookie is an exceptional little buddy.  His favorite place to be is next to you.  He is curious to a fault.  He has to know every thing you are doing and has such adorable concentration on his face when he's watching.  He's got great energy.  He love playing, especially with the other dogs.  Older dogs can find him a bit much since he has very little concept of personal space.  He is highly athletic and with some focus would be a great competition or even rally dog.  He can be a little timid when trying new things, but as soon as he figures them out then good luck keeping him away.  He's the sweetest, little mischievous, goofy to almost being a dork kind of pup that will keep you entertained and in absolute love.

UPDATE #1 from Mookie's foster mom - Mookie is a puppy with a boundless personality. He is cute and fun and as adorable as any puppy but with an extra dose of mischief. He has a tenacious streak that makes him so irresistible. He doesn't give up on whatever he's up to. His translation of being told no is more like 'not yet'. He comes back time and time again. His is smart as a whip and diligent in trying to get his way. He has a boldness that is only rivaled by his loving side. This little man may only grow to be a small to medium size guy, but his personality is larger than life.

FINE PUPPY PRINT: These puppies have been on this earth for just a very short time and will require training and patience as they grow and find their way. The puppies are currently working on potty training and consistency will be key once they are placed in their forever home.
