It’s getting harder to stay cool as summer draws near, but this big guy is definitely one of the coolest dogs we have with us at the shelter right now! Monty is a 4-year-old German shepherd mix that was returned to us because he does not do well around small animals (cats and small dogs particularly). Monty’s a handsome boy, and he knows it! Unlike some dogs, Monty loves being brushed, and trust us, he needs a good brushing every now and then with that beautiful, thick coat of his! In addition to being good looking, Monty is also fairly active and will happily chase down a tennis ball, although he does need some work in grasping the concept of “fetching”. All in all, Monty is a super friendly pup that loves being around people and is great with kids. As far as other larger dogs are concerned, Monty does okay with some but would probably be at his best if he were the only dog in a household (we will arrange a meet and greet with other large dogs if you are interested in adopting Monty!).

Monty is housebroken, has been neutered, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is the perfect candidate for anyone seeking an indoor dog that loves being pampered and spending time with his humans! Monty’s adoption fee is $85, which includes deworming, his first flea/tick treatment, neutering, microchipping, UTD vaccinations, and a heartworm test.
