Meet Monroe
Monroe has quite the unique story! If you’re looking for a dog who can go from the life of the party to a couch potato, you found your match!
Monroe came to our rescue with her adorable 12 two weeks old puppies. She was a wonderful mama! Not long after the puppies were weaned & Monroe was spayed, Covid came about. They say everything happens for a reason, and so it appeared. A local senior in high school reached out to me with interest in fostering Monroe. After speaking with her parents, we realized, these two needed each other. Monroe kept the senior occupied through many of months where she normally would have been going to prom & graduation. She was also a softball scholar, so all the free time she had, she needed something to keep her busy. Several months later, the senior was headed to another state for college, and Monroe came back to us. The seniors mother (who was not able to care to Monroe), said she was so happy Monroe was there for her daughter, as she knew without her she would have been severely depressed.
After returning, we placed Monroe in a home with a male dog and 2 cats. For several months they tried their best to make it work, however, Monroe became more and more prey driven by one of the cats. They were in tears bringing her back as she is an easy dog to fall in love for.
We are searching for Monroe’s forever family. She is much too good of a dog to still be without.
