Meet Monk
Looking for a hospice home. Monk is a sweet, old man looking for a comfortable home to live out his days. He was found as a stray in North Carolina after being attacked by two other dogs. Monk made his way to Rhode Island via a private jet and has been living with us for a few weeks. We’re slowly transitioning Monk to beds, but he still prefers the floor for sleeping. No stairs for this guy.
We think Monk is still a little traumatized from his previous dog attack so he’ll sometimes growl when a dog gets too close or makes him uncomfortable. But he would be fine living with another mellow dog. Monk is quiet, mellow, and sweet.
Monk tries his best to go the bathroom outside but sometimes this old man cannot hold it. Belly bands would definitely be a good option to avoid any mess.
We estimate Monk to be around 13-14 years old. He weighs 33lbs and his biggest health issue currently is his mobility. Monk has arthritis and joint stiffness but we’ve seen a huge improvement already on pain meds and joint supplements. He also has a decent-sized mass near his anus that doesn’t seem to bother him, but should be monitored. Monk is NOT neutered, but he is up to date on vaccines and recently had full bloodwork.
