Meet Molly-TX

Meet Marvelous Molly Moo!

Molly is in an IDOG foster home in Bellaire, TX near Houston. Please read ALL the information in her listing before applying for her. If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for her, please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste the URL into your browser). If you have completed an application in the last 3 months and meet the requirements for his new home, you can email us at rescue@idogrescue.com and let us know you are interested in Molly.

*AGE: 9 years old (born October 2011)

*WEIGHT: 113 lbs. – she is on a diet and exercise plan and should weigh 100 lbs. or a bit less

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical secure fence is required. No electronic fence or e-collar will be allowed as we feel this would not set her up for success.

*COAT TYPE: very soft wavy low-shedding coat; she is currently shaved down due to matting when she came in to IDOG. Her new family should be prepared to brush her coat regularly and have her groomed every few months. This is approximately $100 per groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: moderate to low energy. She would love to be your BFF, your Zoom buddy and your cooking friend. She would also love to be your exercise coach and diet partner. She loves to go for walk, play fetch and is always up for jumping in the car for some fun.

*DOGS: she LOVES other dogs and has lived with large and medium dogs in her foster home. Molly will need another dog in her new home due to some separation anxiety that she has been showing in her foster home.

*CATS: Her previous owner said she chased cats and could accidentally hurt them. She has a high prey drive.

*KIDS: 8+. Molly LOVES everyone and we think she’d be great with people of all ages. However, she doesn’t realize her size and does jump up to say hi so any children in the home should be OK with that.

*CAR: LOVES going for a ride!

*CRATE: she hasn’t been crated in her foster home and does fine. She does whine when she is left alone.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes!

*LEASH: Molly LOVES to walk and walks well on a leash. Given her large size we use a harness to allow for more control in the case she sees a squirrel!
Here's what Molly-Moo’s foster parents had to say about her:

Marvelous Molly Moo is an uber sweet 9 year old Labradoodle who was initially found as a stray in Houston. Her owner found us and made the hard decision to surrender Molly to our care due to the owner’s declining health. She wanted us to find Molly a wonderful new home and that is what we will do!

Want an exercise partner and Zoom buddy? How about a shotgun rider? She will be your immediate BFF! Molly is a happy soul and ALWAYS greets you with a wagging tail – whether you’ve been away for 5 seconds or 3 hours. She is like the BFF you have that always make you feel so special because you ARE special to her. She radiates unconditional love and such as easy girl to be around.

Molly LOVES to GO!
-she is the first out the door to go play in backyard,
-she is the first one leashed up to go for a walk and
-she is the first to jump in the car to go for a ride. She jumps up in joy when knows going for a walk.

Molly LOVES…everything and everyone:
-she loves people – she would love to be with a family where someone is home frequently as she cries when she is left alone.
-she loves other dogs – she would love to have a buddy to sleep next to and to play with and to go for walks with.
-she loves helping – whether that be next to you while you Zoom from home or clean – she’s your side-kick.
-she loves eating – she would love to help you cook and will help clean up any food you accidentally drop on the floor. She is doing well on her restricted diet and is rapidly losing the unneeded weight.
-she loves going for a ride – she’s the first one in!
-she loves walking – she is the first one leashed and jumps up and down when she realizes it’s walk time.

Molly is a grown-up girl and can be trusted to roam the house and not chew anything she isn’t supposed to. She has great house manners. She is very food-motivated and will do anything for a treat. She LOVES to be petted and will lean into you for affection. She just fits right in to your house. Molly would much rather be with her people than by herself and whines when she is left alone. She would do best with someone who is home frequently and a home with another dog to hang out with.

Molly likes squeaky balls and will chase after them – kind of like her own game of fetch. She is a sweetheart and LOVES everyone. She wants to be right next to you and is very affectionate. Molly needs to lose some lbs. and loves to walk so the weight is already coming off quickly!

She recently had surgery to remove a growth on her nose and one on her head – both were benign. We did extensive testing prior to surgery and everything was normal.

Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and house trained. She just had a dental cleaning. She has cataracts which are not impeding her vision much. She sometimes needs help seeing to go outside to potty in the dark. She is heartworm and fecal negative and on heartworm/flea and tick preventatives.

ADOPTION FEE: $100

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
We will review your application and let you know if you made our short list of applicants for Molly. We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs - your understanding is appreciated.

We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for - we do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog. Our adoption process may take 2-4 weeks.

You must be approved to adopt before we will schedule a meet and greet. We expect approved adopters to visit Molly in her foster home within a short period of time of being approved to adopt her. We do not transport out dogs. Our adoption process involves vet and personal reference checks, phone interviews, a home visit, an adoption contract and an adoption fee.

ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. The following is a general guide, but each dog is assessed individually. It currently costs IDOG an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming, and foster care on each dog; that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery, have special needs, or are heartworm positive.

ADOPTION FEES:
Under 6 months $550 and up
6 months to 2 years $450 and up
2 years - 4 years $350 and up
4 years + $100 and up
Special Needs fee/donation assessed on individual basis
