Molly's Story
Meet Molly – A Spirited Westie Looking for Her Forever Home

Hello! My name is Molly. I’m an 8-year-old West Highland White Terrier with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Recently, I joined LSWR in hopes of finding the perfect home.

My journey hasn’t been easy. My first owners were elderly when they brought me home as a puppy, but they became ill, and I spent a lot of time in my crate. After that I went to live with their son and his family. I stayed with them and their dogs and one cat for a while, but eventually, they decided to surrender me to LSWR so I could find the home I truly deserve.

I’m a classic Westie—smart, independent, and full of energy! I’m food motivated and still quite trainable. I know commands like sit, down, and crate, and I take treats gently after I’ve been reminded several times. I adore toys and can play fetch for hours, though I can be a little rough with .and destructive with them. I walk beautifully on a leash, sleep in my crate at night, and love car rides.

Right now, I’m living with another Westie and a Shih Tzu, but I dream of a home with someone who understands the Westie spirit. I need an adopter with prior Westie experience, someone who can be a confident, consistent leader and provide the structure that I’ve been missing. I’d be happy with another calm dog—or I might even love being the only pup so I can soak up all the attention! Consistency is key for me since I haven’t had much of that before. And one important thing: no children.

I’m not overly cuddly or into hugs and kisses—probably because I never had that before—but I do get super excited when my foster mom walks through the door! I do have dry eye and will need daily eye drops (but truth be told, this is NOT my favorite thing). I’m not a big fan of being touched, but I truly hope to learn that human affection is a wonderful thing. I’ve recently jumped on my foster parents’ lap. My blood work looks great, and I’ll be having a dental soon.

If you have Westie experience and can give me the structure, consistency, and love I’ve been missing, I know I’ll blossom into the happiest Westie gal ever. I’ve been waiting for someone special—could that someone be you? Please visit lswr.us and complete an online application.

Xoxo Molly
