Meet Molly

Meet Molly, a lab/border collie mix who was born on 1/16/20. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.

Molly is house trained, kennel trained, knows "sit", "down", and "stay", but most reliably complies when you have a treat to offer. She gets car sick very quickly, unfortunately. She needs some leash training, as she is not very compliant and pulls quite a bit. She Molly has not been around cats, but very much enjoys the company of other dogs. She is fantastic with children. She has lived with a 2 and 4 year old since June 2020 and loves playing with both. She has endured a fair amount of log-rolling and full-body hugs from her 2 year old human but she always responds with affection, playfulness, or indifference (if she's sleepy), but never aggression. Molly is just over a year old so she is still a puppy and sometimes her excitement leads to jumping, but she seems careful to jump near/next to children rather than on them. She loves playing fetch, chase, and tug-of-war. She's a strong chewer so she needs a few hard toys/antlers to keep her occupied. Molly is a huge love bug. She never meets a stranger and her happy tail is always wagging. Molly is the type of pup who stops whatever she's doing for a belly rub, then puts her paw on your leg to ask for more. She'd gladly sleep in a bed with her humans if allowed, but she's slept in a crate in her own room for the last eight months or so.

Molly has never had an accident in the house. To let you know she needs to go out, she will ring a jingle bell (if you have one) or touch the doorknob with her nose. When she's excited, she'll jump at the door. Molly wants to eat breakfast first thing in the morning - no potty break first! She'll usually go out after eating but not if it's cold or wet! She is able to wait an unnaturally long time before doing her business. She's also a private pottier, so she would benefit from a yard with a fence and places she can get away from her humans to do her business.

Molly is super playful in the mornings and evenings. She redirects well if she gets too rambunctious or will run laps outside if she needs to burn off energy. After the morning hours she seems to prefer napping on her chair inside or laying in sunny spots in the yard. She loves exploring in the woods, chasing birds and squirrels and visiting neighbors. She has been in a yard with a short chain link fence with no jumping issues. She has found a hole or two and took the opportunity to explore!

Molly would love an active family. Living with another dog would be a dream for her, though she would be fine without one. She would love living with a child/children who want a best doggie friend. She has so much love to give, she would thrive in a family who has the time and energy to spoil her and cherish her.
