Molly is an 8 yr old sweetie who looks like a Lab mix. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. She is up to a healthy 60 lbs and may gain a few more.
Molly was adopted out and returned because she struggled transitioning to her new home. She is a special girl who needs a special home. She is very sensitive to noise, does not do well in the city, or an apartment where you can hear neighbors. She was staying with her foster mom in Cambridge, but is spending most of her time in rural Maine. We feel that Molly will do well with another dog that is also sweet and doesn't not play too rough. She may take a month or more to become comfortable in her new home.
Molly was surrendered when her owner could no longer take care of her. Molly was diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic insufficient, EPI. Her pancreas does not create the enzymes to digest her food and provide her body with nutrients. We are happy to report that she is doing well taking pancreatic enzymes with every meal on her high quality diet.
Molly's foster mom will share her meal routine. Please go to https://epi4dogs.com to learn more about EPI.
She is living with four other dogs and loves to cuddle with her foster family. She is sweet, sensitive, and playful. She loves to play with the other dogs in the fenced in yard, toss around her stuffed toys, and get pet whenever she can. She walks well on leash and is always so excited to go out. She is not too thrilled to be in the car, but is doing better now that she understands the car rides lead to fun trail walks! We have noticed that she takes a number of visits to get comfortable around new men and warms up to women quite easily.
With better prices on her enzymes and swapping out prescription diet for high quality kibble and canned, we have reduced the costs associated to EPI., I have the monthly cost of her meds and special diet down to be between $250 - $350/month. She cannot go a day without her medication and plant-based alternatives will not work.
Molly's adoption fee is $275. She is being fostered in Cambridge, MA and Newry, ME.
