Molly is an 8 yr old sweetie who looks like a Lab mix. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots and preventives. She is a healthy 62 lbs.
We are looking for a special home for a special girl. Molly lived in one home for her eight years until she was surrendered to a shelter when she got sick. The shelter diagnosed her with EPI. Her pancreas does not create the enzymes to digest her food and provide her body with nutrients. She was very unhappy in the shelter so we stepped in to foster her. With medication and a high quality dog food, Molly gained over 10 lbs and is thriving.
Molly was staying with her foster mom in Cambridge, but is spending most of her time in rural Maine. She is sensitive to the city noise and was doing poorly in the apartment where she could hear the neighbors coming and going. She absolutely loves hanging in the fenced in yard, playing with the other dogs, and going on trail hikes.
Molly will take time to get used to new situations. She is not too thrilled to be in the car, but is doing better now that she understands the car rides lead to fun trail walks! Molly's ideal day is a big walk on the trails, playing with the other dogs and her stuffed toys, hanging in the back yard and lots of petting and cuddling. Once she settles into her home, she is an ideal companion.
We found a great source of pancreatic enzymes online that have reduced her medications costs, buying in bulk, to about $60/month. She eats Taste of the Wild and Merrick Kibble with a little bit of low fiber canned. Please note that she should not go without her medication and plant-based alternatives will not work.
Molly's foster mom will share her meal routine. Please go to https://epi4dogs.com to learn more about EPI.
Molly's adoption fee is $275. She is being fostered in Cambridge, MA and Newry, ME.
