Mojo Jojo's Story
Meet Mojo Jojo

This very shy little guy came to us from the Stanislaus shelter, where he was heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list simply for being scared. Mojo Jojo is a gentle, sensitive soul who has clearly been through a lot, and he’s now learning that people can be kind and life can be good.

He absolutely loves other dogs and truly needs to be in a home with at least one confident, friendly dog who can show him the ropes. He looks to other animals for guidance and comfort, and he feels most secure when he can follow their lead. Mojo Jojo is good with dogs both big and small, though we don’t yet know how he does with cats.

Because he is still very hand-shy, Mojo Jojo will need a patient, experienced owner who understands how to work with timid dogs. That means giving him space to approach at his own pace, using quiet voices and gentle movements, and never forcing interactions. Timid dogs like Mojo Jojo need time and consistency to build trust — it’s about celebrating small victories like a tail wag, a sniff, or accepting a treat from your hand. Over time, with the right person, he will continue to blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion.

He would do best in a calm home without young children, as loud noises and sudden movements can be overwhelming for him. A structured routine, a quiet environment, and the presence of another confident dog will be key to helping him continue to make progress.

Mojo Jojo is around 4years old, fully grown at 15 pounds, and fully vetted. We think he might be a mix of Chihuahua, Jack Russell, and possibly Beagle — a wonderful blend of intelligence, sensitivity, and heart.

He may not be the dog who runs into your arms on day one, but once he trusts you, he will be deeply devoted. If you have the patience and compassion to help a shy dog discover the joy of being loved, Mojo Jojo will repay you with quiet loyalty and gratitude for the rest of his life.

Help us find this special boy the gentle, understanding home he deserves — a place where he can finally relax, feel safe, and know he’s truly home.

First Step Is To Apply Now
[Apply Now](http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application)
For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com.
