Meet Mojo

Our Mojo, an affable and adorable little Chihuahua, was recently surrendered by his owner, who gave no reason at all for the betrayal. Mojo was in complete shelter shock, and looked absolutely shut down in his cage when we saw him. We are delighted he has joined our rescue!

We are big Chihuahua fans lately and have met many little squirts who have shattered our preconceived notion of Chihuahuas as nervous little ankle biters. Mojo has a nice, loving vibe about him, craving human connection and touch. He would be a charming companion to an active single or couple, who have small dog experience. He may be overwhelmed with kid play, but most likely would be fine with cats.

Mojo is quite the cute fellow, sporting a longish coat with a slight fringe to it. He almost seems like a cross between a long and short hair Chihuahua. He is a stocky little guy, who came to us at a staggering 11 pounds! Six years old, he was nearly 50 percent overweight. His frame was struggling under the excess weight, and his mobility was somewhat impaired. Since transitioning to a healthy kibble diet of quality protein, omega fats and nutrients, Mojo has shaved off 3 pounds, and is moving around like a gazelle. Adopters should continue to focus on his nutrition and exercise in order to ensure good health and longevity.

Mojo has not had much obedience training, and he would benefit from adopter focus in this area. Small dogs often miss out on this valuable process so essential to their well being. Mojo is very treat and praise motivated so the his training process should be quite enjoyable.

Mojo is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4snap test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Mojo, please write to or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more info.

Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need. Our group of volunteer foster homes spans the North East, and our adoption territory extends from Maine to eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and parts of northern Maryland. Once an adopter is approved, we arrange transportation. We do not adopt dogs beyond our territory. Please visit our website: for more information about our group and our adoption procedures.
